About

The scientific staff of the Kern Regional Crime Laboratory are forensic professionals who are committed to performing forensic examinations and calibrations, and reporting related results, in a manner that is accurate, clear, unambiguous and objective, and in accordance with all written laboratory policies, protocols, and procedures.

We are committed to quality – we strive to continuously improve our processes and services to exceed client expectations and to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The Kern Regional Crime Laboratory is accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB).

We are committed to safety – we proactively assess and implement our safety program to use science and technology safely, and to prevent workplace injury.

The laboratory is organized around functional sections, each of which concentrates on providing related forensic services, and is administered as the Forensic Science Division of the Kern County District Attorney’s Office.
